I disagree a bit with Steven Hart about the entertainment value of A Scanner Darkly, but his criticism is focused and often witty; even when I find my opinion at odds with his, I respect what he has to say, and I enjoy the way he says it. He's much more serious a reviewer than this humble narrator, and the PKD piece shows how carefully and reasonably he puts together his thoughts.
I also think he's dead wrong about Eastern Promises, but again I admire the authority with which he states his case, and thought you should read it if you're considering renting the DVD.
