I am a "Dedicated Reader". Huzzah.
I just read a crime noir, and back in the day I read tons of horror and sci-fi and fantasy.
Not enough, I suppose, to rescue me from snobbishness.
I got dedicated reader as well! You both always will get a pass from me because you read comics.
I'm surrounded by dedicated readers--I'm merely a fraud motivated by "social credit." As if reading high-test shite gets one social credit of any kind.

the area of the bookstore that I've read most (if not all) of the books in my last, say, 5 years is the "Speculation" shelf

You also work like a doctor intern--and not many of them have reading time leftover either!
I love the speculation section too. I've cut huge swaths through UFO/DaVinci Code predecessor/Holy Grail/Egyptian pyramids are hydrogen plants/astrology/ghost/Atlantis books. Love them!
