Gulp

Everyone here laughs nervously when I tell them about my new job, and then proceeds to tell me some horror story about why they fled the classroom to work in an educational non-profit. I just heard about a superintendent of schools who bumped into a student in the hallway at Lake Clifton high and was beaten senseless by a gang of kids.

Fear is the mind-killer.

i'm proud of you for following your gut. yes, i'm concerned for you, too. but i think you'll be able to do some good. (isn't that the delusional hope that keeps most of us going in our job?) just be careful with yourself. i say this for selfish reasons: i read your blog every day. you gotta keep writing it!

Oh, don't fear for me. I've got an innate ability to avoid physical harm. This ability springs from great reserves of natural cowardice.

alicia and I think you should just bring Shino (sp?) to class every day... interacting with animals has lots of benefits for students, ESP troubled ones!

ha ha ha

:) jv

Shino is big and strong, but too friendly. I'll take Pooch, who is small but horrifying as the Chupacabra.

You stand up pretty well in my eyes. I'm very glad for you, but be careful.

Nice picture of the Howard street tunnels, it brought back memories. You can walk all the way down to pigtown through those, or at least you used to.

Hmmmm. I won't tell you to rent out an old Samuel L. Jackson flick called "187," written by a very, VERY pissed off ex-schoolteacher.
