Dog Gone

We got a flurry of phone calls this afternoon. A lady searching for her lost cat happened to see my post of a found Shepherd mix on the same listserv as a post for a lost Shepherd mix. Greta's owners were very happy to see her again, and brought two bottles of wine, a large bouquet, and a tub of blooming orange tulips when they fetched her this afternoon.

I'm devestated and happy all at once.

Maybe they'll let you dog-sit on occasion? Pets are great stress busters.

I do miss having dogs. Growing up we had several in the house. They're much more interactive than the birds and fish.

For stress release I'll try to catch the loose pitbulls in our area.

I miss having dogs [and cats] too. And Greta was a pretty dog!

The last dog I had, had the nerve to die after 14 years. Can you believe it? That ungrateful bastard ... he died! ... of old age!!! What a punk.

I think I cried for about a year.

Who am I kidding ... I can hardly think about him now without feeling horribly empty.

Dogs are too easy to love.

Stay away ... stay away.

Today's vitamins and intensive genetic therapies allow dogs to liver forever via the magic of cloning. Fido kicks off? A test-tube of his precious earwax can provide an army of Fidos.

His collar is on the banister at the top of our stairs (don't know if you've ever noticed). It may just have a "hair of the dog" left in it ....

I assumed that collar was used in some sort of intimate circumstance and did not comment out of delicacy.
