Nah, I'll pass. I've read enough Mailer. I liked passages in many of his books, but was never satisfied with the whole thing.
Though he was a quite astute commentator on politics in the 60s. I saw him discussing the Dem. convention in '67 on PBS (American Experience? or American Masters?) and it was quite good.
He came to Towson once in the 80s. Reportedly, he was drunk and began his speech with sexist comments about TU's brand new Women's Studies program. When some men left in response to his comments he said, "the only men interested in a Women's Studies program are just desperate to get laid."
I had a good chuckle when I heard that Fox News ran the headline "Liberal Author Mailer Dies."
