A university lecture which explains the origin of this blog's name. Well, not really, but I saw this when I was about 13, during cable TV's infancy in York, PA, just as I started reading Lovecraft, and only now remembered it, some 30 years later. Of course the episode was on YouTube when I searched.
PS: Rod Serling's Night Gallery was spoofed on The Simpsons ages ago. Do you remember?
"Night Gallery" was the idiot cousin to "The Twilight Zone." Rod Serling himself could hardly stand the thing, but he needed the money. The Simpsons spoof caught the tone perfectly: "They're DOGS! And they're PLAYING POKER! YAAAAGGHHH!"

Yeah--awesomely bad!

The only other episode I remember was a crappy "Monkey's Paw" rip-off. Even as a 13-year-old horror afficionado I was unimpressed...
Monkey Paw was also used on the Simpsons...
