As much as I liked Hustle and Flow, I might like Black Snake Moan better. What a brave and interesting performance by Christina Ricci, and a powerful turn by Samuel L. Jackson. Also: Justin Timberlake--who knew? He's a better actor than Brad Pitt.
Hadn't seen this since I was a kid. It's awe-inspiring, and some later Disney films (like Sleeping Beauty) look lame by comparison.

sot sure I agree (totally) with the Brad Pitt thing, but I loved Black Snake Moan too. And Snow White? well... Masterpiece. that's all that can really be said.
Curious juxtaposition though, these 2 movies?!?!?!?

It's weird. I'm at a point in my Netflix queue where stuff I put on the list five or six years ago is arriving, mixed in with things I added much later. I never know what will show up together!
But now that you mention it, Snow White and Black Snake Moan are very similar stories. Samuel L. is the Prince? Or the dwarves?
