Day #62

To all those who say teachers work bankers' hours: I worked 30 hours the last two days. I will be working a long day tomorrow as well, and I will have to work another Saturday just to get my work done this week. And many teachers at my school are working more hours than I.

In other words: up yours!

Heavy man. Teachers shouldn't have to work this hard - mostly, it's because we don't have enough of them.

If only the teachers could, at least, get bankers' pay, that would be a HUGE step in the right direction.

You, and all teachers like you, perform at a heroic level everyday, yet where is the recognition at the community level? Sure, the occassional parent says a heartfelt and sincere "thank you," but, compared to what teachers do to make even the most marginal progress, it isn't enough.

And, what have the bankers done for us lately, except practically wreck the global economy, and thereby, come close to destroying modern civilisation as we know it?

I'm with you, man.

you are a warrior in what should be the War on Ignorance. (we have a failed War on Drugs...why not redirect some of the $$ towards something "winnable?") I agree, keep up the good fight. You are doing actual good work and we are proud of you.

Garlic is my friend. Been fighting the cold all week; it was kind enough to let me get through 65 hours at school this week. Now, on the day of the staff Xmas party, I'm laid low.

Ain't nothing but a thing. Only two colds this fall--a record! I'm used to being sick from late August until March every year.
